[comp.sys.mac.comm] Maclan Connect

Thad.Humphries@f421.n109.z1.fidonet.org (Thad Humphries) (08/29/90)

Does anyone out there have experience with MACLAN Connect from Miramar
Systems? It runs a AppleShare server on a PC/AT/386 and, supposedly,
can be used to bridge the AppleTalk network to nets that don't support
the Mac -- like MircoSoft's LANManager or Ungerman-Bass. I am *very*
interested in hearing of its success, problems, etc. especially how it
handles client-server data bases (like ORACLE or MicroSoft's SYBASE
clone) and file sharing with non-client server architectures like
FoxBASE.
