I am unable to get NCSA Telnet 2.3 (or BYU Telnet 2.3.1) to recognize my password for FTP. In config.tel I have: ftp=yes passfile="mydisk:teldir:ftppass" I ran the telpass program (version 1.0), set up a user named robin and set a password, saved the file as ftppass and quit the telpass program. When I telnet to a (unix) host then ftp back to my mac, I get: 220 Macintosh Resident FTP server, ready Name (132.241.80.104:robin): robin Password (132.241.80.104:robin): 331 Password required 530 Login failed ftp: Login failed What am I doing wrong? [enumerates symptoms] The problem is probably the following: telpass puts the new file into the same directory itself is in. You have to copy the ftppass file from there to the folder indicated by your config file, i.e. to mydisk:teldir:ftppass. Good luck Sigurd
