  | The product does sound quite good, but the article is somewhat misleading.
  | Unless I'm mistaken, uAccess is providing such features as its VT100
  | terminal emulation and XMODEM file transfer simply by providing Comm
  | Toolbox capability, and the ALREADY-EXISTING VT100 terminal emulation and
  | XMODEM file transfer CTB tools.

I think that is somewhat the nature of the press.. there was a lot
of hooplah about MacTerminal in MacWeek and InfoWorld, raving about
how MacTerminal would now do VT320 emulation, and that is simply another
Apple supplied CTB Tool as well!!.. But everyone is eating it up :-)
Last version of VersaTerm Pro I looked at only implemented the Apple
supplied tools for it's CTB support also (and the press raved about
that also!).

The whole idea of the CTB though really is that using the Apple supplied
CTB components, a developer can quickly and easily add to or increase
the functionality of their product (which having a Terminal emulator
right in uAccess certainly does!).

I personally think Apple wants to _own_ Macintosh communications, and
I don't see a lot of work apart from custom drivers, being done right
now by developers other than at Apple to fit the CTB, basically I
think _because_ Apple wants to own Mac communications, and seriously,
why re-invent the wheel.. It's the old MacWrite story.. no one but Microsoft
would touch Mac Word processors for the longest time, cos Apple was
giving it away with every Mac, then when it was unbundled everyman
and his dog was writing a Word Processor!!.

BTW.. it there IS any development for CTB tools going on:
I'm especially interested in finding a kermit transfer tool, and if anyone
knows of one released or under development, I'd like to hear about
it.

Cheers.

Stu.
