Hiya out there, I dont know wether that's the right newsgroup..... We do have here inhouse an Ethernet (TCP/IP) with a couple of UNIX Hosts (SVR3) and Terminalservers. We also have one MAC II.This MAC has an Postscript Printer connected directly via an Appletalk Link, and is also connected to our LAN via "Novell LAN Workplace for MacIntosh".(telnet/ftp) We would like to use this PS-Printer from our UNIX-Hosts via Ethernet. Does anyone of you know how to provide the access? Do we need another Software on the MAC??? Optional: Is it possible to implement smtp??? Your help is very appreciated, 'cause we dont have enough knowledge reagrding MAC's. Thanks in advance. If you want public domain/freeware stuff, you are looking for CAP, a protocol package from Columbia (though Rutgers is now working on it) that implements appletalk on Unix machines. It is avaiable from rutgers.rutgers.edu or columbia (IP?). For other stuff like this, comp.protocols.appletalk is probably your newsgroup. pr -- Pete Resnick (...so what is a mojo, and why would one be rising?)
