Hi, I'm the proud new owner of a Quadralink 4 port serial board for my Mac IIci. I seem to be continually short of serial ports so I purchased it. It works great however... As I expected the "shadow" software only allows me to shadow the modem and printer ports. Here is what I want: modem port - fax modem (want to have on full-time) printer port - apple talk to another mac/printer (full-time) quadralink#1 - would like to have a VT102 emulator running here to Unix quadralink#2 - another VT102 emulator to the Unix system (2 windows!?) quadralink#3 - direct to a radio modem 9600 baud (need std terminal prog) quadralink#4 - undecided yet... Anyway, My current emulator, WhiteKnight does not appear to support the comm toolbox, ignoring the fact that I don't have the comm toolbox. Question: if I get the comm toolbox, what terminal emulators are out that support it? I don't have FTP ability so how can I get ahold of them if they are not commercially produced? Question: of these terminal emulators do any allow multiple copies of them selves to be executing in different windows? This is so I can have two windows connected to the Unix machine. Nice for debug etc... The unix machine has plenty of serial ports available... Question: I am assuming that if I purchase the comm toolbox that it will give me the ability to map the six total serial ports to names or something like and then with in each app that supports the comm toolbox open a named serial port. Is this correct? My quadralink board states that it supports the comm toolbox and system 7.0 Question: where can I buy the comm toolbox. I'm not an apple developer yet... I do have plans to develope some stuff for the Mac. Do I have to purchase anything different to get driver source code for the comm toolbox? What comes with the toolbox purchase and how much is it?
