[net.railroad] less-common scales

Can someone explain "Guage 1" for me?
What about 1" scale?
(I've got G, LGB, O, S, OO, N, and Z down pat, thanks,
as well as their narrow-guage variants.)

LGB *is* guage 1.  However, it is scaled so that guage 1 is about
one scale meter. (since LGB is scaled at 1/22.5, you can figure out
the actual guage if you want).  There are also models of standard
guage trains that run on guage 1, made by Maerklin, Aster, and others.
