[comp.sys.mac.comm] NCSA Telnet not working in Mac IIci

zeke@shamash.cdc.com (Robert Scott) (10/21/90)

I removed an Apple Ethernet card from an original Mac II and put it in a
Mac IIci. I was successfully using NCSA Telnet V2.3 in the old Mac II,
but now I can't get it to work at all in the ci. I've tried all variations
that I can think of with: subnet masks, defining the device in the
config.tel file to be either "ether" or "ether14" (the network information
menu item reports the ethernet board in slot 14), and turning the ethertalk
driver on or off (it works fine with the driver present but off in my
old configuration).

Mac IIci configuration: running System 6.0.5, multifinder, lots of inits,
trying to talk over thinnet to an Apollo and a 386 running Interactive Unix.

Anybody in net-land got any ideas?
