[comp.sys.mac.comm] $249 DoveFax for Mac

dyer@spdcc.COM (Steve Dyer) (10/23/90)

This is one neat gizmo, and what seems to me to be an incredible bargain.
An external 2400 baud modem and 9600 baud FAX modem in a tiny box,
3.5" x 6" x 1.5". It comes with a chooser-level driver and works with
(but doesn't require) Adobe Type Manager. This means that (if you like)
you can send a FAX from the Print menu selection of any Mac application
just as if the remote FAX were another printer. The software accomodates
unattended FAX receipt and deferred sending. I've only used it for
a few hours, but I'm astonished how easy it was to get working (look,
Ma, no manual needed), and the amazing quality of what you can produce.
200 dpi looks pretty good with PostScript fonts--you'd be crazy not
to get ATM from Adobe for the $50 extra it costs.
