We have a Localtalk network with several Macs (Mostly SEs) which runs TOPS and uses a SUN machine as a file and print server. In addition we have a gateway to ethernet (kinetics box) where several PCs, SUNs, a VAX and a HP 9000 are connected. So... If I use Telnet S/W (V2.2) and connect to one of the SUNS ---> A O.K. If I Telnet to the Ultrix VAX ---> A O.K. If I Telnet to the HP 9000/3XX ---> "Host or Gateway not responding" I have each of the machines addresses in my Telnet config file. Each machine has the address of the MAC in their hosts file. Any pointers??? I have tried the ping command from the HP and can ping all the other machines on ethernet but not the Mac. I even tried messing with the routing table for the HP and I cannot getthe %$@#!! HP to see the Macs! Should I be using another program? Should I be using a newer version of Telnet? Should I be somehow specifying to the HP that the Macs are on another network (Localtalk)? Or... Should I just continue to ftp files up to the SUN from the Mac and then ftp the files over to the HP from the SUN (Whew!)
