At work we have about 10 mac II's connected with appletalk and Tops, and until now it has worked just peachy, but suddenly two of the Macs cannot be accessed from others. More specifically, they can be "opened" and files can be copied from them, but when one tries to copy files _to_ them or "mount" them, a short pause occurs, then a "cannot connect, keep trying or cancel?" message pops up. If you chose "keep trying", it happens over again, and if you choose "cancel", a "disk damaged, cannot be opened" message comes back from the disk being accessed. From this point, the disk being accessed thinks that the other disk is attached, and the disk doing the accessing does not acknowledge the connection. Note that when I say attached or connected, I am not talking about the ever-present hardware connection, I am talking about the user- invoked temporary Tops software link. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. -------- Kent Richards benkei@cs.utexas.edu
