QUESTION: Are there any known problems with the MacIIsi serial ports using System 6.0.6? I have a Mac IIsi on which I am running both uAccess (a Communications Toolbox application) and the new DoveFAX fax modem. I also have a Hayes 1200 modem hooked up to compare. In both cases, the Hayes 1200 modem and the DoveFAX 2400 modem, I can send data to the modem via a terminal emulator, and see the SD light blink on both modems (separately of course). Neither of the modems echo the modem commands, but the DOVE blinks the RD light as if to echo and the Hayes does not blink the RD light. No data ever appears in the terminal window. Neither of the modems will work. Commands sent to them appear to work, but the data sent to the computer is never seen. They both use different cables, and the DoveFAX works on my IIfx. The DoveFAX does not use the CTB, so its probably not that. I also figured that a hardware problem would be unlikely to hit both the modem and printer port on just the RD line exactly the same, although I am sure it is possible. tim. ------------------------------------------------------------- Tim Endres | time@ice.com ICE Engineering | uunet!ice.com!time 8840 Main Street | Whitmore Lake MI. 48189 | (313) 449 8288
