Posting for a friend: Are there currently any voice-mail, answering machine or telemarketing software or hardware packages available for the Mac? I understand there is a plethora of products and add-in cards for the PC, but I have yet to find anything for the Mac except for Magnum Software's T-FLEX, which lists for about $3000! My budget is more like $500. At MacWorld Boston last August, I asked The Complete PC if they had any plans for releasing a Mac version of their Complete Answering Machine (for the PC). Their response was that it was extremely difficult to program the Mac to interface with phone lines for this purpose (something about interrupts on the Mac). Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone understand what this means? Finally, could I somehow combine existing products like MacRecorder, Hypercard and some external device control package to create something akin to an answering machine? I would like to be able to turn a tape recorder on and off, at the very least. Any suggestions (and packages) would be appreciated. If there is enough interest, I will summarize to the net. ---Joe *** nOtIcE *** NEW EMAIL ADDRESS: arthur@CSC.MCKINSEY.COM Have a nice day. ........................................................................... :Arthur Chin. At MacWorld Boston, Dove Computer was previewing a Mac based voice mail system that utilized a "special not-yet-released" version of the Dove Fax Modem and some really cool software. I'm not sure of the current status of the product. Dove's number is 1-800-622-7627. No, I don't work for Dove, but I do know some people that work there. /Matt --- Matt Kingman - Macintosh Software Engineer Pacer Software Inc. - Westboro, MA 01581 Disclaimer: I speak only for myself.....
