I am using a PP9600SA to send this message. I'm new to high speed modems 
and V.32 in particular, but I've had pretty good luck with this unit. 
The first units produced by Practical were not completely bug-free. If 
you're using a Mac, I'd suggest you check with Practical first to make 
sure you're getting a "Mac" model. I had to send mine back to get the 
update. It's a very compact design and it is very light. The front panel 
consists of 10 LEDs and 2 switches one for power and one for 
auto-answer. The power comes from an adapter that plugs into AC and then 
connects via a thin wire to the back of the 9600SA. 
 
I don't hesitate in recommending this unit. It's great to have the high 
speed. Especially at this price.
