I'm new to high speed modems and V.32 in particular, but I've had pretty good luck with this unit. The first units produced by Practical were not completely bug-free. If you're using a Mac, I'd suggest you check with Practical first to make sure you're getting a "Mac" model. I had to send mine back to get the update. It's a very compact design and it is very light. The front panel consists of 10 LEDs and 2 switches one for power and one for auto-answer. The power comes from an adapter that plugs into AC and then connects via a thin wire to the back of the 9600SA. I don't hesitate in recommending this unit. It's great to have the high speed. Especially at this price. -- Ambrose Liao, Ambrose.Liao@f421.n109.z1.fidonet.org via The Black Cat's Shack's FidoNet<->Usenet Gateway blkcat.fidonet.org and Fidonet 1:109/401
