UP Steam Engine 8444 begins its return trip to Omaha, Neb today
(Jan 23) from Baton Rouge, La after being on display at the World's
Fair in New Orleans.
It is scheduled to use MoPac rail to Kansas City, Mo, then continue
on UP track to Omaha, Neb, scheduled to arrive Jan 31.
Scheduled overnight stops are:
Longview, Tex
Houston, Tex
Fort Worth, Tex
Muskogee, Ok
Osawatomie, Kan
Kansas City, Mo
Topeka, Kan
Lincoln, Neb
Plans include full day public display in Houston and Fort Worth
and most of the day in Kansas City. Only passengers will
probably be VIPs and NEWS media.
If I can get some exact dates I will pass them on.
Amateur Radio Station K0GHK is scheduled to operate from the
train.
