Yes, Hayes does have a nuBus modem for the Mac. I believe it carries the designation Hayes Smartmodem 2400m. There may also be V-Series modems as well. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dave Newman - Sofware Ventures | daven@svc.portal.com | AppleLink: D0025 Berkeley, CA (415) 644-3232 | AOL: MicroPhone | CIS: 76004,2161 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It did have some difficulty with dropping carrier when the DTR line was dropped, but I think that was simply a configuration problem. The modem was only available as a serial port device in the CommToolbox, but it did work. This was accomplished with an INIT that spoofed the serial manager for the card. I am not certain of the implications for simultaneous use of the modem port, but I got the idea that the two could not be used simultaneously. I agree they should direct their attention to full CTB support, but the modem does work to a degree. tim. ------------------------------------------------------------- Tim Endres | time@ice.com ICE Engineering | uunet!ice.com!time 8840 Main Street | Whitmore Lake MI. 48189 | (313) 449 8288
