I'm trying to help someone who needs to pass ASCII in real-time from a PC to a Mac. The situation desired is: PC pulls in data from some remote source, manipulates it and then passes it out to the Mac, which manipulates it some more and then displays it. All dats is ASCII (names & numbers). Right now, the PC pulls it in, manipulates it, and then sits on it. My suggestins of a) dump the PC and do it all on the Mac, or b) buy one or two UNIX boxes and do it through ethernet, were both rejected. Any packages for PCs and Macs that can push & pull data automatically? Any advice in general?
