I just received the preliminary schedule of railfan activities
for the first six months of 85 from the 20th Century Railroad
Club in Chicago. Here is a list of the highlights.
2/17 Jack Benny 39th Birthday Special to Waukegan.
4/27-28 RAILFAIR 85 WEEKEND
5/3-5 Excursion to St Joseph Mich for Blossom Time Festival
5/11 Excursion to Holland Mich for Tulip Festival
5/25-27 Excursion to Toronto, Canada
6/8 1 day excursion to Railroad Days in Galesburg, Il
6/29 1 day Wisconsin Dells Excursion
There are also a number of 1 and 2 day "Mystery trips" where a
"crime" takes place on the trip and everyone works to find the
guilty party.
Many of their trips use their own private car(s) attached to the
end of regular Amtrak trains.
