I'd check to see if the VideoTrax is still made- I tried to locate something like this a year ago and the only one I could find any info on (I think it was the VideoTrax) wasn't being manufactured anymore. Howabout using the PCM mode on 8mm videotape for digital backups? the thing can store 24hrs of digital audio on a 120min 8mm cassette... Maybe we could record the output from a modem or something... :)
