We recently started using AppleShare on our Macs. We transferred all our documents onto the AppleShare server and left the applications installed on the client Macs. When I try to edit an existing document that resides on the server, everything is OK until I try to save the document. I then get a Mac OS Error -49 which means that the File Is Already Open For Writing. Looks like the Mac thinks that some other application has the file open. But there are no other applications running on the client Macs. We simplicity, we log in all the client Macs as Guest and give full read/write permissions to all folders on the file server (at least for now). Has anyone seen this type of error before? Any suggestions on what might be wrong? If it makes a difference, we aren't using Localtalk, we're using Ethernet between the client Macs and the AppleShare server Mac. Also, the application that we are using is Vista (a Deft OEM, this is a CASE tool). Thanks, -- Phil Trubey SHL Systemhouse Inc. (Internet: phil@shl.com UUCP: ...!uunet!shl!phil)
