Hello Netters, We are having some LAN problems here at GTE. We have a LocalTalk net of Macintoshes connected to an Ethernet of Suns via a GatorBox. We have it set up & running GatorKeeper 1.5B1 Share with Print (build 2). We can telnet into the Suns alright, but no matter what we try, we can't get the Suns to reach the LaserWriters on the LocalTalk net. We usually get the following results when we try to print: kermit% lpr -Pla1 texttest kermit% lpq -Pla1 connection to jolly_jumper is down kermit: waiting for jolly_jumper to come up Rank Owner Job Files Total Size 1st jens 88 texttest 159 bytes kermit% lprm -Pla1 88 dfA088kermit dequeued cfA088kermit dequeued connection to jolly_jumper is down kermit% It says that the connection to jolly_jumper (our GatorBox) is down, which is odd because this is a copy of a telnet session. Clearly the connection is not down. So why do our Suns fail to recognize the GatorBox when we try to print, even though it knows to look for the GatorBox. I suspect that the Suns have been set up incorrectly, since there is no problem telnetting into the Suns, but since I don't know too much about Suns, I don't know what to do. Hardware problem? Software problem? It's got me beat, so if any of you know what to do I'll be most endebted to you if you'd help me out! Thanks!
