[comp.sys.mac.comm] MacTCP and Netserial Dial-in

dhoyman@vms.macc.wisc.edu (Dirk Herr-Hoyman) (02/08/91)

I have just installed a Shiva Netserial for dial-in access to our AppleTalk
network. This works fine (or at least acceptably) at 2400 baud. However,
when I tried to use Telnet I would get "Host not responding" messages.

We have a GatorBox and use MacTCP to support the Telnet. I am presuming that
the problem is that MacTCP times out before I make the connection. I can see
that Telnet without MacTCP allows you to set a timeout value, but I do not see
any hooks in MacTCP to change this.

I am correct, and if so how can I change MacTCP?
