Hello Everyone . . . I'd like to get feedback from people who have used either of these two comm packages, I'd especially like to get feedback from people who have used both. What did you like/not like, special features one has that the other doesn't, problems/restrictions encountered . . . Reply by email and if there is enough interest I'll post a summary . . . Thanks in advance for the info . . .

i just got WK a few weeks ago, and have had a little time to work with it (repeat: little)... what i will say is that the program is most powerful, for those that want an ultra hacking terminal emulator, i.e. to use its power, you need to hack. other than that, it is by far the most impressive terminal emulator on the planet. one feature that is missing, that i just couldn't believe isn't there (so i called the tech support people) is that you can't have any more than 24 rows, on your vt1*. that's a real bummer. sure you can stretch the screen to whatever, but don't expect WK to place the cursor in any meaningful location. its reported that >24 rows will be supported in a futre release. as i hack around w/ it (this weekend i plan on doing more), i'll add any more caveats that i come across. WK is an excellent program. rep

White Knight is the current commercial version of what used to be called Red Ryder; the publishers of the program ran into some kind of legal trouble with the name Red Ryder, and therefore were forced to change the name. I'm not sure if it is still readilly available, but the old versions of Red Ryder were Shareware, and may still be available for trying out at some of the ftp archives; White Knight has added enough features that it is worth purchasing, however. -Eric Eric Graves, '93 Princeton University (Computer Science) ejgraves@phoenix.princeton.edu
