[ Please forgive me if this is a FAQ. ] Let's say you've got a Mac with an EtherNet card, what sort of NFS client software is available, and how much does it cost? Does it also offer printing? I'm looking for the functionality of GatorShare and GatorPrint w/o the bottleneck inherent in LocalTalk. Thanks. -- ==== Mike Schmelzer, UW Genetix, mjs@genetics.wisc.edu, (608)263-7459. === ========= Schmelzer's Law: You can have anything you don't want. ========= ================ "How can hatred uplift a race?" - 3rd Bass ==============

Hmm, well let me start this by asking a question. What sort of printing do you want to do? From the Mac to networked printers? Or from the network to the Mac? It makes a difference in the info that follows. Also, do you know about the ability of CAP to provide printing from the Mac to the network? Wollongong has a product called MacPathWay NFS Client which also includes a LPR server so that you can print to the local LaserWriter from the network. InterCon has a product called NFS/Share. Both of these provide NFS clients for the Mac. Both are very different in the way in which they do so. For a fuller description I suggest that you get in touch with Wollongong and us for literature, etc. Drop a note to jim@intercon.com for sales info, I am not sure who to contact at Wollongong, but I would guess that they have a info@twg.com or some such. GatorShare will also provide connectivity to NFS servers, but by converting NFS to AFP. Hope this helps.
