I am having a problem with SingleShare, Matthias Urlich's shareware AppleShare program that lets you share volumes between Macs without requiring a dedicated AppleShare server. The problem is that after a while, the mac running Pyro!4.0 hangs when Pyro is working (i.e. "sleeping") and when its volumes are being accessed (or just mounted on another also-sleeping mac). Sometimes, both macs hang. The screen saver stops moving and the mac must be rebooted. BUT, if the exporting mac is actively being used, this doesn't happen. It also doesn't happen with the old Pyro. Has anyone run into this problem? Are there any options I should turn on or off in the "when to wake" dialog box in Pyro? I've already turned off a number of them. I want to keep Pyro 4.0 because it has password capability. Fifth Generation (makers of Pyro!) suggested that I rename the init to AAPyro. This didn't work. They also suggested that it could be caused by conflict with another init. I don't have a lot of inits. Even so, taking them out one by one would take all day because the problem is not very reproducible -- it sometimes takes a long time of inactivity before the mac(s) hang(s). So I was hoping someone might be able to clue me in on what to do. Thanks in advance, Lydia Gregoret gregoret@cgl.ucsf.edu gregoret@UCSFCGL
