I just spent all of my money on a new Macintosh Classic!! WOW, now I can get all kinds of programs from ftp!! Well, First of all, I only have a 1200 baud modem with a RS232 jack, no way to plug that in to the 8-pin minicircular mode jack on the mac (I am yet to play with pin outs) but after I get that going I the only communication program is MicroSoft Works (V 2.0), and I had problems with it before in Xmodem Data mode. So I thought great, I will just bring the mac into the lab for a few day to get it going. We have the IBM PC at the lab, I thought great, I can use a PC as a terminal to get to our suns FTP to a site, get what I want, xmodem it to a IBM disk and use the neat program that came with the Macintosh, Apple File Exchange (V 1.1.4) and up load it from the IBM disk. This was great, I thought, but the Apple File Exchange program put its own header on. Anybody know how I can get programs down to it? Here are all of the mac programs I have to use so I can download better programs: MacTools (V 6.3) REDIT (V 1.2) ResEdit (V 1.1b3) Fedit Plus (V 1.07) Now, don't laugh if the version numbers come from the stone age, That is why I wish to ftp things. If anybody wrote anything in basic that might be able to help me, I do have have version 2.00 of microsoft basic, and also ,of course, hypercard (V 2.0). Any ideas? -- sven@cs.widener.edu Widener CS system manager Sven Mike Heinicke and Student (pssmheinicke@cyber.widener.edu (if you must))
