[comp.sys.mac.comm] MacTerminal

resnick@cogsci.uiuc.edu (Pete Resnick) (03/19/91)

I *could* find this out with a little leg-work, but posting usually
gets me quicker answers....

Where is the latest version of MacTerminal (i.e. the one that uses
the Comm Toolbox) available from? Is it only through normal Apple
dealer type channels? If so, how much is it?

Also, does MacTerminal support multiple connections if you have
more than one port and/or connection tool to work with? And what
exactly comes with it?

Thanks,
pr

MacTerminal 3.0 should be available from your authorized Apple dealer.
It does support multiple connections, limited only by memory (you may
need to bump up your MultiFInder partition for lots of sessions)

The tools that come with MT3.0 are: (file transfer) Text, XMODEM,
(connection) Serial [can access third party serial port cards],
Apple Modem [works with all Apple and many third party modems],
{terminal) TTY, VT102, and VT320.

There are additional tools available from Apple and other third parties.
These support X.25, Telnet/TCP/IP/FTP Server, KERMIT, ZMODEM file
transfer, IBM3278 terminal emulation, SNA connections via tokenring SDLC
and coax cards, DEC's LAT protocols, DECNet, and ADSP to name
a few.

Hope this helps.
