[comp.sys.mac.comm] Hardware handshaking with a PPI PM9600SA

mrx@dhw68k.cts.com (Mark Murphy) (03/30/91)

I just purchased 2 Practical Peripherals PM9600SA modems for my BBS. I'm
using Hermes v1.0.8 on a Mac SE. What I need to do is make a cable that
provides hardware handshaking AND carrier loss detect. I've heard conflicting
stories on this... some say it is possible and others say no. Without
hardware handshaking, transfers are slow and I've been having trouble with
XModem transfers.

So the scoop is this... what would the cable configuration be to hook up
the PPI PM9600SA modems to the SE? Any help would be appreciated... please
responde via e-mail... I will repost the solutions if others are interested.
