I've recently purchased a Mac LC (operating System 6.07). I'm familiar with the ftp process and have an interest in accessing the software from MTS/UMICH. I've accessed and read the "download" instructions. I'd like to know if I'm interpreting the instructions correctly. As I read the instructions: 1. I first get a version of MacKERMIT that will run on the 6.07 operating system and load it on the LC. Any special procedures, or just copy this onto hard disk? 2. For a typical listing on MTS/UMICH I see the following: =========================================================================== UT/USEPAINT 34 9/17/90 BinHex 4.0, StuffIt A utility for merging multiple TEXT files into one file. ============================================================================ So, I access a copy of BinHex 4.0 and Stuffit and place these on my Mac. For this paticular case I do (?) both converting using BinHex AND unstuffing with Stuffit?? Is that a correct reading? If so, what are the steps to follow with each? Yes, I'm asking how do I run each of these on the file(s) I'll be receiving via ftp. Since I'm new to the Mac world I could use some step/by/step help. [Remember I identified myself as a Novice in the Subject 8^)]. Any help you can provide will be much appreciated. [You may notice a separate message asking about copies of MacKERMIT and BinHex 4.0. Yup, that's me.] Please send responses to buelow@csd4.csd.uwm.edu.
