[comp.sys.mac.comm] LocalTalk Telnet and System 7.0

george@swbatl.sbc.com (George Nincehelser 5-6544) (04/18/91)

Has anyone been able to get the LocalTalk version of Telnet (i.e. the one
where a router such as a GatorBox does the actual IP stuff) to work with
System 7.0?

If so, is there some trick or secret?

Thanks.

George

Some people in our CNS Lab have had problems at Colorado State University.

I am running NCSA Telnet 2.4b10 under System 7.0b4 and using a Gatorbox
(Gatorshare 1.6) with no problems.

The problem most have is not with Telnet, but with MacTCP. You have to put
copies of MacTCP in the extensions folder and in the sys folder as well.
Apparently, the applications look for it in the sys, but 7.0 will not load
it from there. If you are running the non-TCP version of Telnet, I can't
help you...
