When the WhiteKnight 11.10->11.11 upgrade was made available on the sumex archives, I downloaded at, unstuffed/etc. and applied it to get a working 11.11. No problems. Almost immediately, WhiteKnight 11.10->11.12 became available, and I followed the same steps (starting with a fresh copy of WhiteKnight 11.10, of course). This time, PUP runs for a minute or so and then just hangs the system (the bone stops spinning and nothing except cursor tracking appears to be alive). After rebooting, the Finder reports that WhiteKnight 11.10, which was being updated in place, is "damaged", so clearly the update hadn't finished -- not surprising, just hoping. The update contained a new copy of PUP, but I get identical behavior with both old and new copies, and the dates and sizes match, making it very likely that they are the same version of PUP. Re-downloading would be painful, but possible, but since everything came out of Stuffit and the executables were still executable seems to rule out bad copies. Anyone else see something like this? Any suggestions? (I have written to FreeSoft, but even with excellent service, which I have always gotten from them, I am looking at a week or more turnaround time ...) The environment is a Mac II running OS 6.0.5, 8MB memory and two HDs, an internal 40 and an external 100. Several INITs, but no significant changes since the previous upgrade that did work ... -- :-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-: | Brian G.
