We are trying to do file transfers between two Macs in this arrangement: Mac -> Terminal Server ------ telnet --------- Terminal Server <- Mac (Ungermann-Bass) In this configuration, I have no problems transferring ascii and binary files between two IBM PCs using just about any communications package or file transfer protocol you might mention (a little tweaking necessary for binary file transfers). With Macs, we have utter failure with Kermit, Red Ryder, Zterm, you name it, regardless of fiddling with all imaginable parameters. MacBinary file transfers using Kermit are the primary goal; the failure mode here is sender reports data fork size mismatch, sends some packets to the receiver, and wipes out the data fork on the sender disk! I should note finally that this works beautifully with a null modem cable between two macs. If anyone has successfully implemented kermit file transfers between Macs over terminal servers, any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. Gary Chapman, chapman@nyu.edu
