[comp.sys.mac.comm] Vegas Usenet access

rcook@ncsa.uiuc.edu (Robert Cook) (04/29/91)

I have a friend who wants access to the Usenet, but doesn't have an account
anywhere. Does anyone know of a cheap($$) way to get access. I know some
bbs's have Internet access and charge a relatively low monthly rate. Does
such a thing exist in the Las Vegas area?
Please e-mail any info. you may have and I will forward it.
Thanks in advance.

Let's see... This "friend" doesn't have free access to UseNet, so that
means that he's not in school, and he doesn't work for a computer company
that's hooked up.

Hmmm... He lives in Vegas... This was posted to rec.gambling... What
other line of business could this person be in?

Can you say "CASINOS"???!!?!?!

Has your red flag gone up, yet, Mike?

If the smiley faces apply to your entire posting, never mind...

Actually he's a freelance photographer that would like to read rec.gambling,
among other newsgroups. He's amazed by the number of people who read this stuff.
Really now, use that brain Frank. Would someone (me), who works at NCSA, help
a casino? Don't you realize it's fairly easy (maybe not cheap) for a casino
to get Usenet access. I'll even go as far as bet you some of the big casino's
already read this stuff. BTW, I already know about getting a uucp feed, but
that's a little too expensive for him. I'm looking for something along the
lines of a free(cheap) bbs with Internet access for e-mailing and reading the
newsgroups. I know such things exist, I'm just wondering if they exist in or
around Las Vegas.
