[net.railroad] PANDROL CLIPS

GEERT%BITNIC.BITNET@WISCVM.ARPA (Geert K. Marien) (09/23/85)

For the people who are wondering why PANDROL clips are called PANDROL
clips: PANDROL (U.K.) Ltd. makes them. Also, the Long Island Rail Road
has used them with both concrete and wood track structures.

In the UK, as elsewhere on European railways, heavy use is made of
concrete ties, and CWR (Continuous Welded Rail).

Some good articles have appeared in MODERN RAILWAYS and TRAINS magazines
on both the track structures mentioned above and on PANDROL (U.K.) Ltd.

In a future memo I will provide details on these articles.
