someone posted just a little while ago about u/l'ing to UNIX...
I was having the same problem, and I tried various things...
It turned out that the dialin I was using used flow control characters and 
stuff. This is what I need to do before u/l'ing:
terminal no escape
terminal telnet-tra
terminal flowcontrol none

That's at the dialin's prompt......
after that, it works a little better, though delays seem to create errors at 
9600, so I usually use 2400.  At night, however, the 9600 works better,
probably as a result of less traffic from other users.
