Hi, I am trying to set up a hetrogeneous network in our building and I'm having diffuculty figuring out how to do some things. We don't have NOVELL. We have two appleshare servers, located on two (currently) separate local talk networks. We just bought a GatorBox (and are about to get another) and we are getting some Macs and PCs with ethernet cards. I suspect it will look something like this: ethernet -------------------------------------------------------------- | | | | | | | | mac pc mac pc GBOX GBOX pc mac | | local local talk talk net net 1 2 I hope the Mac stuff will just `work', (i.e., the macs will `see' the printers and servers on the localtalk nets.) But what about the PCs? Is there any simple way to let them print on the Laserwriters on the two localtalk networks? I guess I'm looking for a PRN: driver that knows about appletalk (Do I need appleshare PC?) I understand that we can set up the gatorboxen so that the VAX (if connected!) or a unix host could print on the laserwriters (gator print?), does this help with the PC printing if we have it? As you can see I don't have a good feel for what's out there. Any ideas or poiners would be heartily appreciated. Thanks in advance! -steve
