I am trying to do the following: I need to send a PostScript file to a fax which is hooked off our mini file server. It is basically the same PS file sent normally to the LaserWriters except it includes in the file at the beginning info indicating it is a fax and it has a destination phone number(s). At the moment, I need to add this info manually with a text editor. I believe the best way for the net fax problem is to use a separate rdev which the user will select a fax but the application only knows it is printing to a laser printer. This seems to involve modifying the LaserWriter rdev and I don't know if: It is easy It is legal It also requires modification of the LW prep Do you know anyone who has done this already? ie modifying the LW rdev so the Print dialog box will ask for a phone number(s) and append this info to the PostScript file generated for printing. I shall also try posting comp.sys.mac. comm/apps/progammer for responses to the problem as well. I'd love to hear any suggestions, posted or e-mailed.
