It costs (for individuals) about $100 from APDA, though you probably won't need to pay for it (see below). >Compare the NCSA Telnet, what's the advantages and disadvantages? NCSA Telnet is *not* TCP/IP. It *uses* TCP/IP to communicate. NCSA Telnet can use either its own native implementation of TCP/IP or, in a separate version, can also use MacTCP. NCSA's native TCP/IP can only be used by it NCSA Telnet. MacTCP can be used by several applications, and several can be opened under Multifinder. There are also commercial versions of telnet programs now available that are much better peices of software than NCSA's. Even using NCSA Telnet, the MacTCP version is a much better idea. >how to get MacTCP? MacTCP is available from Apple Programmer's and Developer's Association (APDA) at 1-800-282-2732. But since you are at the University of Maryland, I think there is a site license there for MacTCP. Stop by the computing services office there to see about getting it. I neither work for Apple nor NCSA. I am a MacTCP user and shareware programmer, and one of the most hated beta-testers for NCSA Telnet. :-) pr -- Pete Resnick (...so what is a mojo, and why would one be rising?)
