Does any one know when the next version of ZTerm is going to come out? Several
months ago, it was due out "Any Time Now."
(Dave, you out there?)

What termcap entry do people use and/or recommend with ZTerm 0.85? I know vt100 is obvious, but it doesn't work out too well on a Sun with SunOS 4.0. Is ZTerm's vt100 emulation going to improve in the future? It is _great_ for file transfers. -- -------------------------------- | John Palkovic (708) 840-3527 | \ {tellab5,obdient}!linac!palkovic| |University of Wisconsin-Madison| FORTRAN: \ palkovic@linac.fnal.gov | | & Fermilab, Batavia, IL |Just say no.\ palkovic@fnal.bitnet |

Has anyone heard about the status of the new version of ZTerm? Somewhere out there in the BBS world I heard that it was supposed to be out in late October. If anyone knows where it can be found PLEASE e-mail me. I bit off a couple of large bites, as far as changes go, and it can't be released until those areas are at a reasonable point. The latest version of ZTerm is 0.85, and is, I think, available at the usual FTP places, including sumex-aim.stanford.edu If you don't have FTP then contact your local user's group. I'd like to thank those who have sent me help with my problem with getting Zterm to work with my Unix system. As it turns out, my copy was bad. I got a new copy which works perfectly even when (here is a list of the suggestions, all of which I tried but were not necessary!) Communicating at 7 bits With or without the -e or -w option With MNP off Thanks again for the help! Does anyone know what the latest version of Zterm is? I have 0.85. Other questions: - Has anyone else had problems with the vt100 emulation? It doesn't seem to be terribly accurate. - Are there other term programs that will do zmodem transfers? - Of course, I'm talking noncommercial stuff.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pete Berger || ARPA: peterb@cs.cmu.edu Professional Student || Pete.Berger@andrew.cmu.edu Univ. I can't remember if I've posted the message before so I'll do it now. I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced the same problem that I have with Zterm. After many months of use, it has suddenly quit performing like it used to. My dial list has disappeared although the Zphonelist file is still there, and many changes that I make (macros, etc) do not remain saved when I boot up the next time. I made the assumption that the software has some kind of timekeeper on it to have it bail after a certain date but I don't know how valid that is. I will check to see that my disk is working correctIy now. Any help is appreciated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bruce!
