Byron,
Will there be a release of CommToolBox tools at any point, or are they
going to show up bundled with the applications that can use them? I
note that MacTerminal 3.0 in the PathWorks package came with a bunch
of connection tools...can we expect other terminal-emulation apps to
  include tools in the future?

CommToolbox Tools have been available from APDA for quite some time. The
set includes a VT102 and TTY emulators, modem, ADSP (appletalk), and
serial port tools and xmodem and text transfer protocol handlers. They
also have VT320 and IBM327X terminal emulators. I don't remember the
prices. These things have been available for quite some time, something
like 2 or 3 years.

Let me add that Byron and friends have done a super job on the CTB. I
think he may be amazed at the things we are going to be doing with it
over the next few years.

The Basic Connectivity Set was revved (is that a word?) for System 7.0 and were
released on the 7.0 Workgroup Upgrade CD. They will also be available through
APDA. We expect tools to continue to be released with applications. We are
investigating the merits and demerits of including tools on the system disk.

Arguments pro and con may be directed to my e-mail address.
