In reply to John Purbrick's mail of 4 Oct 85: About HO and OO: The only manufacturer that seemed to make a habit of producing HO British equipment was TRIX. But they stopped years ago. My father bought some of their equipment in the earley 1970s in HO, but it never fits in with all the other OO equipment. There is, of course, the odd model of a British item made on the continent in HO, but most of these seem to be 'toys', that is that they are out of scale and usually in 'train sets for tots' (please pardon the phrase). LIMA also had some items in HO, but, understandably, it didn't sell to well in the U.K.. Now, as for the 'clumsy look' of the OO on HO, yes, that can be a problem. There are solutions: use PECO trackwork (its superior to most American items anyway, without ugly switch machines) which will be more prototypical and solve the flange problems, plus, I assume you are running your British items on an American layout. Space permitting, you may want to build even a small British layout with everything OO. /Geert P.s.: Sorry for the delay in answering! Acknowledge-To: Geert K. Marien <GEERT@BITNIC>
