I recently purchased Halls of Montezuma, and have been having a bit of difficulty winning battles. I have the following questions for those of you who have played it. 1) Other than Mexico City, which other scenarios would you rank as easy, which as hardest? 2) How do you disengage a battered regiment? I have tried both reserve and delay, and neither seems to help much to get trashed batallions off of the front lines. 3) I suppose the answer to (2) will solve this, but what is the best way to conserve the French regiments in Belleau Wood? I have played this a few times, and the French ALWAYS get totally crushed. I let the computer play both sides, and there was an identical result (in the end, the Germans won by about 2000 points). Is this scenario stacked so hopelessly in favor of the Germans or are both the computer and I missing something in our strategy for the Allies? The manual alleges that "You can often stop the Germans advancing beyond the Wood until the US troops arrive" - has anyone stopped the Germans???? I would appreciate any comments. Please E-mail them to me, and I will forward/post them if there is any interest expressed. Thanks in advance, -- David Resnick dresnick@athena.mit.edu
