I understand that there are two new games coming out from Casady and Greene: Sky Shadow, by Patrick Buckland (of Crystal Quest fame); and Mission: Starlight. I've got a chance to buy them both for $70 dollars, but I've got to do it now, i.e. sight unseen. Does anyone out there have any specific information on these games? I've got the C&G pamphlet with the $40 for one $70 for both offer, but the information there does nothing to give you a feel for the game. -- R David Francis francis@cis.ohio-state.edu

Yeah, I got the same offer, and feeling flush for a moment, I took them up on it. I sort of regret it. Neither game has the variety of Crystal Quest. I have given up on MS completely as being too hard not because the action's too fast, but because the controls are too balky on my MacII -- not as bad as the original Crystal Raider, but pretty bad. SS is using some of my time: it's more or less in the Defender class of game, but frankly a bit less interesting. It also has some problems with the controls, but it's manageable. For comparison, I fell in love with CQ immediately, and eventually banned it from my hard disk in order to get work done. SS may eventually reach that fate, but it's uncertain whether it will be because of too much or too little interest. -- Kevin O'Gorman ( kevin@kosman.UUCP, kevin%kosman.uucp@nrc.com ) voice: 805-984-8042 Vital Computer Systems, 5115 Beachcomber, Oxnard, CA 93035 Non-Disclaimer: my boss is me, and he stands behind everything I say.
