[comp.sys.mac.games] Need Spellbreaker help

msf10759@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu (06/02/90)

I've been playing this game on and off (between semesters :-) for almost two
years now, and I haven't made any progress in months. Can anyone tell me:

(1)	What does that blasted nihilivorous rock want to eat? I've been
blorple-ing myself to hither and yon looking for something that
glows in the dark, but can't find a thing. Somebody once suggested
that it might be the alabaster plug, but I can't find a way to get it,
	it that's what it is.

(2)	Of what use is Belboz's iron key? (I always loved Infocom's game-
related copy protection; the first time I ran across this puzzle, I
discovered that I had left my enchanter trading cards at home.)

(3)	What useful things can I do in/with/from the vault or the treasure?

If answering one of these hints will answer all three (i.e., if all I need to
solve the other two puzzles is the cube from the first one), please give me
the minimum answer possible. Thanks in advance.

Hold on to your hints! In a previous message, I wrote:

Yesterday, searching through the game for things a rock might want to eat, I
went from cube to cube systematically trying to find something I'd overlooked.
(I've already offered the rock every object I've ever collected in the game,
none of which "look very appetizing." What I'd give for a hammer and chisel...)
As I was wandering through, I cast a few spells here and there...

...used the "snavig" spell in the right place...

...and found something I've overlooked. You can't solve the rock puzzle until
you find a certain cube, and I've just found that cube for the first time.
I still haven't solved the rocks puzzle (I'm looking for ways to cheer up a
brown-eyed rock), but I'm getting there. Thanks for all the e-mail with cryptic
hints about liquid rocks (huh? what? "light" cube??? :-)
