[comp.sys.mac.games] Epyx, Electronic Arts and MicroProse tell all at CES

talcott@nunki.usc.edu (Adam Talcott) (06/15/90)

I recently returned from an interesting trip to Chicago to attend the Summer
Consumer Electronics Show (CES). I learned some interesting things...

(1) Epyx is still alive but not doing so well. They ran into some problems
with Sub Battle Simulator II so they will not be distributing it. Digital
Illusions (a company in Texas) is the original author and they will be
distributing it themselves. Anyone know how I can get in touch with them?
Let me know via e-mail please as I am calling long distance...

(2) I asked Electronic Arts if they planned on updating the Macintosh version
of Chuck Yeager's Advanced Flight Trainer. The lady I asked started to laugh
and said "No, we have no plans to do so at this time." Of all the computers
I saw at game makers booths at CES I would say << 1% were Macs. Not good.

One piece of good news! MicrProse will be releasing a Macintosh version of
F-19 Stealth Fighter: a great game. When? I don't know, they just said
"soon" => a few years.
