I just tried running ADVSYS the game writing language that is available
from sumex.stanford.edu and it crashes big time on my Mac Plus! This is
under System 6.0.5 either with or without Multifinder. I'm pretty sure
that this used to work, has anyone used it with recent system software?
The symptoms are pretty simple. If I run either the compiler or the
intepreter the system crashes either immediately or at the first click
or keyboard entry. It drops into Macsbug but it has trashed things so badly
that Macsbug won't even run. There is no response to the mouse or the keyboard.
As far as I've been able to determine there has never been an update to
this program. The version I have is dated 1986.
If I can't get this one to work, does anyone know of another program for
writing text-based adventure games? I'd like it to be something that allowed
the game to be run on other platforms as well (like MS-DOS machines).
