I recently posted a message asking for information about why the ADVSYS language for writing text-based adventure games bombs with the latest software. Well I got a response from Paul Snively (chewy@apple.com) who informed me that the problem is that the 1986 version at info-mac (and elsewhere) was compiled with an old C compiler that did nasty and illegal things which causes code compiled with it to fail horribly with more recent system software. The solution, he says, is to recompile the sources with a more modern compiler. Unfortunately I don't have the sources, so ... **** Help !!!! **** Does anyone know where I can find either the sources to ADVSYS or better yet the binaries recompiled to work with new systems? ftp access would be best for me. Actually if anyone has a version that works it would be nice to send it to info-mac so they can have a working version in their archives. Please reply via E-mail if possible.
