[comp.sys.mac.games] Vette

Has anyone seen this game that Sphere (Spectrum Holobyte) has been
advertising? Is it
even available yet? If they do as good a job on a driving game as they
have done
with Falcon, then I am definitely interested.

Spectrun Holobyte had a rather large display at MacWorld Boston and
they had a couple of demos of Vette running. It looked like a
very good simulation, including accurate representations of streets,
monuments and buildings in San Francisco. I think it's been released,
but the version I saw at MacWorld looked like it had a couple of
bugs (e.g. update problems, an occasional bomb). If it hasn't been
released I would expect it soon.

I talked to the developer for about half an hour one morning before
the show opened (being an exhibitor has its advantages...).
He said it was fairly close to shipping -- probably mid-September.
