Listening to the steam freaks is tolerable... But, please,

I mean, it's bad enough the truckers are killing the railroads...
Do they have to kill the DARPA list too...?

Since deregulation, the truckers aren't killing the railroads any longer...in fact it is the other way around. With regards to including other forms of transportation on this list: I believe that the volume of submissions would be relatively light on other subjects. If it weren't I'd want to see it split out too. In any event, lets see what the rest of our members feel.

Sure, I'd like to see other types of transportation discussed too. But there's a romantic flavor to railroads that planes and buses just can't touch. I hope we don't lose anything with the new addition. If the newsgroup degenerates, we ought to be prepared to take it back to a "railroad only" status.
