On level 12 (and I think on level 10 also) I always get killed during the challenge round. First the blue guys come down in that long sweeping pattern, then the white guys play clay-pigeon shoot-out and then a death pentagon comes from the left and an orange arrow comes from above... and "..dat's all she wrote" The pentagon always crashes into me. Shields don't work in the challenge round, so how do you avoid dying? Also... is there a more-or-less foolproof way of shooting ALL of the circles in challenge rounds 6 and 8? Tracking them from left to right always seems to miss one or two for me... Thanks! Rich

[] [] Shields don't work in the challenge round, so how do you avoid dying? umm, you've got to move quickly to the extreme right and then after the danger passes move quickly extreme left and then after that move back to dead center (and then after a round of zig-zagging terror you've got to get the two dropping balls). the only thing i can't manage yet is the initial blue guys in the symmetrical sweeping pattern. haven't figured out a strategy for that yet ... Tracking them from left to right always seems [] to miss one or two for me... are steady hands foolproof? i've been known to "win" the 6/8 challenge rounds (the bonus is slightly better than the 2/4 bonus). i track the left ones slowly from left to right (starting at the extreme left minus about 2 solarian ship widths and usually finish in just enough time to track the right ones slowly from right to left that are now on top of me. hope this helps. -dave- hairston@henry.ece.cmu.edu
