Amtrak schedule changes effective January 12th contains the following: (i) Discontinuance of the Empire State Express between Albany-Rensselaer and Niagara Falls. (ii) The Crescent will operate three times a week instead of daily on the Atlanta Ga, New Orleans La. leg. The New Orleans train departs New York on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, and returns from New Orleans on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Addititonally New York New Orleans will run on 1/24 and 2/7, and New Orleans New York will run on 1/28, 2/13, and 2/14. On all other days the Crescent will run upto Atlanta Ga. This will continue until March 21, 1986. On 3/21/86 the Crescent will resume running daily to New Orleans. (iii) The Palmetto will operate Friday, Saturday and Sunday southbound and Saturday, Sunday and Monday northbound between New York and Savannah Ga. Daily service will continue between New York and Washington. Daily service to Savannah will resume on 3/21/86.
